The US Presidential election saw a Biden victory, but it was not the runaway victory predicted by most of the polls, with Trump retaining massive support. Whilst Biden’s success is welcome, he was installed as candidate by the Democrat establishment to keep out Bernie Sanders, which tells us where his policy agenda will sit. Will President Biden satisfy the many who only voted for him to defeat Trump and will he have any hope of winning back more of the white working class Americans captured by Trump’s right wing agenda? How will the left in the Democratic Party respond?
